2006 & 2007 Step 2 CS Results Reporting Schedule...
There are some questions that always seem to be unanswered like "When will ECFMG be very very efficient ?". But then I let it go after I read what Felix Frankfurter had to say - "I don't like a man to be too efficient. He's likely to be not human enough! " Afterall, ECFMG is made up of humans.
They are getting better slowly :-) Starting 2006, a New Step 2 CS reporting schedule has been instituted to help candidates allay their apprehension, frustration and other associated emotions that one's limbic area invariably generates, while having to wait for an uncertain amount time for the results.
Testing Period : Reporting Period
For Year 2006
Jan 1 - Feb 25 : Mar 29 to Apr 26
Feb 26 - Apr 22 : May 24 to Jun 21
Apr 23 - May 20 : Jun 21 to Jul 19
May 21 - Jul 15 : Aug 16 to Sep 13
Jul 16 - Sep 9 : Oct 11 to Nov 8
Sep 10 - Nov 4 : Dec 6 to Jan 3, 2007
Nov 5 - Dec 31 : Jan 31, 2007 to Feb 21, 2007
For Year 2007
Jan 1 - Feb 24 : Mar 28 - Apr 25
Feb 25 - Mar 24 : Apr 25 - May 23
Mar 25 - May 19 : Jun 20 - Jul 18
May 20 - Jul 14 : Aug 15 - Sep 12
Jul 15 - Sep 8 : Oct 10 - Nov 7
Sep 9 - Nov 3 : Dec 5 - Jan 2, 2008
Nov 4 - Dec 31: Jan 30, 2008 - Feb 20, 2008
What do these numbers mean ?
The first date-range corresponds to your exam date and the second tells you the date-range during which you can expect your results...So time your Date accordingly.
Important points to Note:
1. All Step 2 CS centers will be closed during the period from June 19 to 23, 2006
2. For the 2007 Match Hopefulls who need a H1 Visa , its safest to have your CS result Reported By Early Dec - to be in time for ECFMG certification , which is need to take a Date for the Step 3 test
3. The earlier you take your CS in the slots above, the earlier your result will arrive in the corresponding reporting time-slot!

Post a commentAlthough this schedule helps you to estimate the best time to take the exam based on your own study/application schedule, I found this new rule to quite trying of one's patience. I took the CS on May 30 and had to wait until Aug. 20 to get the mailed report (4 more days of waiting for the mail even if the result was out on Aug. 16)...But thanks to your suggested OASIS trick :-) I had an inkling that I already passed. YOUR WEBSITE WAS A GREAT HELP!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for the input ! Good luck on ur residency search ..glad this site helped u
:-)
hey do you guys know where you can view a sample sp score sheet--just curious
I took my exam six weeks ago, so I know that my scores won't be reported for quite a while, but OASIS doesn't even show my exam date yet. Is this normal or is it likely that anything went wrong with transmitting my information?
Experiences anyone?
I will take the exam on 11 of Sept and the results are to come in Dec. When is the soonest I can schedule a new date, in case I fail, and still be eligible to participate in 2008 match? In other words, can I book another date prior to knowing my result?
Thank you.
Unfortunately you cannot book another date before knowing the results. :-(

Although the waiting period of 60-days before re-booking a date for a failed USMLE attempt has been eliminated since May 2007, your result from a prior attempt MUST BE available before you can reapply.
I agree that it would be great if it were allowed to 'block' another date before knowing the result...
